It’s always a challenge when it comes to securing permission from drivers to check their licences. Well, not anymore… we have several methods of gaining permission to suit our varied client base and in turn, ease what we call ‘permission pain’.

All DAVIS methods provide permission which lasts for 3 years so you can check as many times as you wish in this period without having to gain consent.

6 ways to invite drivers

SMS E-approval

SMS E-Approval helps to initiate an instant response from the driver thanks to its light touch approach which uses text messages to facilitate the communication with the driver. Once the driver validates their identity by two factor authentication, the driver clicks a link to authorise access to the DVLA record. It is our quickest end to end process yet and eliminates the need for drivers to log into DAVIS to carry out the task meaning it’s much more likely that the process will be completed straight away.

E-Approval

Our most popular method requires little intervention. Simply add a driver’s name & email address and let DAVIS do the rest. Drivers are emailed directly and permission is gained by a digital driver declaration. The service will auto-remind drivers until the declaration is complete.

On-site

If departmental access to a company phone is limited and using the DAVIS app is not an option, clients can onboard drivers face to face by keying in all the licence data into DAVIS. Permission is gained instantly via pin code authorisation sent to the driver's phone.

Paper Mandate

If drivers don’t have an email address, or if you prefer to get a wet signature, a paper mandate can be signed. Once scanned and emailed to us, we’ll do the rest.

CDR

This small counter top device scans physical driving licences (photocard format only), capturing data and gaining permission in a single process. This method has the added benefit of an extra security check by confirming the card's authenticity and flagging any counterfeits. Purchase or rental options are available. CDR is a firm favourite with local authority due to its consistency and ability to carry out check after check.

Direct link

A unique link can be sent to your drivers and accessed on a desktop or mobile device. This link is assigned to the company on DAVIS and can be accessed via your internal intranet service. This method doesn’t require an email or a mobile – just simply click the link, add your licence details and submit permission for 3 years.
